Dear Tournament Hills Elementary Families,

   Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! We are excited to continue with our 21st Century learning opportunities for our Eagles. Classrooms are equipped with technology that will enhance student learning and prepare our students for College and Career Readiness. We are a 1:1 device school with Chromebooks where students will access the resources needed for classroom instruction. We will continue to provide great opportunities, rigorous instruction, and a high focus on the new California State Standards. We are excited to welcome our students to the new academic year and look forward to sharing many wonderful learning experiences! Please see below for information regarding our school hours, drop off & pick up procedures, emergency supplies, and other important information. Back to school information along with supply lists are located under the "parents" tab. 

Instructional Day:

7:30am-1:50pm Grades 1-5

All Day Kindergarten- 7:30am-1:50pm

Early Bird Transitional Kindergarten/ Kindergarten 7:30am-10:55am

Later Gator Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten 9:40-1:50pm


Early Release Days- Wednesdays:

Early Release Days -1st-5th Grade & All Day Kinder- 7:30am-12:45pm

Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten All come in the morning from 7:30-10:55am

All-Day Kindergarten-7:30am-10:55am


Office Hours: 7am-3pm


Morning Drop-Off:

Students line up at 7:25am and are prepared for class at 7:30am. Please make sure you plan adequate time to navigate through the traffic to drop your child off in time for school. If you pull into the parking lot at 7:25am chances are they will not make it into the school until after the bell rings.

Leaving Early/Changing Dismissal Routines: If you are going to check your child out from school early, you will need to show proper ID when arriving at the school. Unfortunately, we cannot have your child waiting in the office for your arrival to check them out. If you call to change the way your child gets home (bus to walking, etc.), we will be verifying information off of your emergency card before we will make the change. We will not be able to guarantee that the message will get to your child's teacher if you call within the last fifteen minutes of school. We will do our best to get that message to them but we ask that you give us at least 30 minutes notice. If you come to pick up your child within the last hour of school, please park on the street to avoid getting stuck in the pick-up traffic.

Guidelines for Dress & Grooming: All elementary students need to be dressed and groomed in a manner that will not interfere with or distract from the educational and instructional process. Mohawks of any type and colored hair are not allowed!! Please see the behavior/dress code policy on our website to view the guidelines. Parents will be contacted by the school personnel if there is a violation of the policies.

Emergency Bags: We would like for each student to have an emergency bag in case we are out of our classrooms for a disaster. Suggested items are...

*1 Gallon Ziploc bag with the student's first and last name written on the outside

*2 Granola Bars

*1 Fruit Snack

*2 Water Bottles              *Index card with a special message to your child

 

Boys & Girls Club- Before and After School Care: We are pleased to have back the Boys & Girls Club to provide before and after school care on site! If you need an application you can download one from their website, Boys & Girls Club of the San Gorgonio Pass or stop by our front office. Applications are limited to space available. 951-392-7131

Transportation: Bus passes are issued through our Centralized Enrollment Office. Please contact transportation ASAP to arrange for your child's bus pass at 951-845-0279.

 

Child Nutrition Services: Breakfast is FREE for all! CNS will continue to provide free breakfast for all students as we know that it is the most important meal of the day! Lunches can be purchased for $2.50 daily. You can apply online through our website.

 

Parent Portal- You will be able to view their attendance, grades, and other important information through the Illuminate Parent Portal. Please return the request form and send it back to your child's teacher. You will then be given an access code to obtain the information. We are excited that this new system will keep our parents informed of our students progress online!

 

PTA- Please support our Parent Teacher Organization by dedicating your time to one of our many school events. We will be continuing with our Harvest Carnival, Mother/Son Dance, Father/Daughter Dance, and many other exciting activities. Please visit their tab on our webpage for more information!
